Does the military have good pediatric cardiologists?
My husband joins the army. My main concern is our son 1 year old who has an aortic stenosis. He had first open heart surgery when he was 1 week at the Houston Medical Center by one of the best pediatric cardio. surgeons. I hope you can get a referral to the surgeon in Houston and pay for our trip when he needs his next interventions, but would be willing to use a surgeon sort of care if we were as long as I know they are quality. Anyone experienced something like that? I know we would certainly have to pay for our own travel. I just want a referral to the surgeon who had previously worked on the
they do not refer to anyone or pay less than the hospital where your trip will be stationed in DH can not handle the matter themselves or there is not a hospital nearby civilian can. regardless of reputation. . you may have to accept Tricare Standard stay that allows you to choose your doctor .. but all the expenses that are not covered by Tricare (including travel to and from) will be out of pocket.
