The swine flu or H1 virus will revisit us in the coming year. It is vital to know the facts and to be prepared. Even though our regular flu season takes the lives of thousands each year we tend to take it for granted because we have come to expect the seasonal illness. This new strain which takes its origin from the 1918 Spanish flu is still shrouded in mystery. Even though a vaccine will soon be available to the general public scientists are still hard at work unraveling the mystery off this new viral strain.
The answer to the question “who has immunity to the swine flu” is not as clear-cut as many scientists hope, but by studying its effects on the immune systems of young and old, we may soon arrive at an answer.
